We are a lively friendly team, completely committed to what we do: which is to work with business owners and managers to achieve success through their teams.

The company was founded in 2005 and has experienced steady growth ever since based on a responsive service to customers and a strong underpinning of professional knowledge and experience.

Where do we work?

Based in the town of Liskeard we are ideally positioned to provide HR solutions and services to Cornwall and Devon. We also provide a ‘remote service’ to a limited number of customers outside the West Country.

Who do we work with?

Tamar HR works with many different sectors: care, retail, accountancy, manufacturing, distribution, professional services etc. In scale our customers range from micro-employers of two people to employers with a team of several hundred: a typical team size is 5-60. Tamar HR’s advisors have offered HR solutions and services to Southwest SMEs for over a decade.

    Tim Marrow, HR Manager

    Tim founded Tamar HR in 2005 to provide an accessible and responsive service to businesses in the South West. A member of the CIPD and an experienced HR practitioner, Tim has worked with both the commercial and not for profit sector over the past 10 years. He has a particular interest in employment law and how positive workplaces can be built up and sustained.

    Liz Shaw, HR Advisor

    Liz provides front-line support to clients across the whole range of HR issues. She is an experienced practitioner, combining a commercial approach with a personable style. She holds a degree in psychology, qualifications in personnel practice and HR management and has been a member of CIPD since 2003. Liz has particular interests in employment law and employee relations, and is enjoying her move back to Cornwall.

    Lisa Hughes, HR Advisor

    Lisa is an experienced HR practitioner who works in support of some of our larger clients providing a comprehensive HR service.  Her previous experience with Babcock International and developing the HR function for a high growth business has proved invaluable.  Lisa is currently completing her Masters degree in Personnel & Development at the University of Plymouth.  Coming from the Tamar valley, Lisa enjoys the rural setting of our offices!
