Payslips: New Rules Feb 2018
New rules regarding payslips were laid down before Parliament on 8 February 2018 and will come into force on 6 April 2019 under the Employment Rights Act 1996 (Itemised Pay Statement) (Amendment) Order 2018.
From 6 April 2019 all employers will be required to state the number of hours being paid where the amount of wages or salary varies in relation to hours worked. This may either be by a single aggregated figure or separate figures for different rates of pay or different types of work.
This change is an amendment to Section 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 which gives the right for an Employee to be given an itemised payslip at or before the time wages or salary are paid to them. Whilst, therefore this right is only applicable to Employees, you may want consider, including the number of hours being paid to all workers with exception to the self-employed to prevent breaches of this regulation.
